This piece was inspired by Mark 15:34

And at the ninth hour Jesus cried out in a loud voice, "Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? Which means, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"

I have been reflecting upon this verse for a while now, I think it is an excellent reminder of not only the extreme sacrifice Christ made for us, but also that he was just as human as myself, with the same human emotions and feelings.

The four panel arrangement represents the brokenness of Christ, but also the unity now found in the image of the Cross.

Furthermore, my relationship with God often seems to be a roller coaster. As close as a get to Him, I will often find myself just as far away. I often find myself sitting alone, wondering where God is? Where is He, is it something I did?

Sometimes the answer is elusive. Other times, its blatantly clear. Too often I put people, places, events, and other things before spending time with God. Homework over church, hockey game over Bible study. Perhaps too often, it is I who have forsaken God.
